Junk Journal July – Prompt 23 – Overlap

Prompt 23, Overlap. I had to think hard about this one. In the end I decided on overlapping waves, and added a flap on the page to overlap the page underneath.

Junk Journal July - Prompt 23

Some of my favourite pages have cutesy images, which is a surprise to me, but true. This page is no exception. How can you resist those cute fish and starfish!

Junk Journal July - Prompt 23

This page already had a pocket so it was a good opportunity to use a lovely stencil I have, which looks like fish scales, which also overlap! The base of the tag was yellow and then I painted blue through the stencil and added some gold gilding wax also.

I coloured in the cute fish and added some net underneath before attaching to the tag. That net was a true junk find. I had some oranges in a net, and threw the net away. Then I thought..hold on, that would be good for any sea life page I might want to do! So I used part of that to give a net effect under the fish. Looks lovely! I have since saved every net I might get though, so now I probably have too much. I am sure I will use it somehow!

Junk Journal July - Prompt 23

I added some stamped waves to the little insert page, both sides. I carried out the waves across the right hand page and added the cute boat and fish. I overlapped this to contain the small page and added the cute starfish. I love how this came together!
